River Falls Community Food Pantry Will Continue to Support Anyone in Need with Modified Food Distribution
A message from our Board of Directors on March 18, 2020:
There are unique food distribution challenges due to the current concerns nationwide. COVID-19 has impacted all of us in one way or another. Our organization is making a temporary change to how households receive food to minimize physical contact as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. We want to reiterate that these changes are only temporary and being implemented in order to keep all families, residents, and volunteers safe during this time.
Beginning Wednesday, March 18th this temporary food distribution procedure will be in place until further notice: The building will be closed to the public with all interactions taking place outside at the recommended social distancing regulations of 6 feet or more.
This situation is ever changing and will be adapted as regulations require.
To Our Shoppers:
Food will be provided pre-bagged by our volunteers during our normal operating hours:
Monday: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Thursday: 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Upon arriving at the food pantry each person should wait in their vehicle. A volunteer will take your name and household composition (number of individuals in the home), and address.
Volunteers will then bring approximately 14 days of food out to your vehicle. Please let us know if you have certain dietary restrictions and we will do what we can to accommodate. Shoppers are able to return to the food pantry for additional food every two weeks.
If any other assistance is needed, please call our offices at (715) 425-6880 or email: info@rfcfp.org. You can get regional references through United Way’s helpline: 211
To Our Donors:
If you are able, make a financial donation. Retail donations are lower during these times and we can place larger food orders through partner agencies to meet community needs.
Food donations may be brought to the side door on the south side of the building during business hours. Please call us at (715) 425-6880, email: info@rfcfp.org or message us on our Facebook page to let us know you would like to bring a donation. A volunteer will bring a cart outside to accept the donation while we follow the new protocols set in place.
Again, this is a unique situation that no one could have anticipated. We are evaluating recommendations daily and will continue to do so with communications from state and federal agencies.
Thank you for continuing to support all of those in need and understanding that the health and well-being of everyone is our priority.
